DELIVEROO AND SCOOP GO LOCO FOR CINCO DE MAYO WITH GUACAMOLE GELATO

Tuesday, 4th May: Holy Guacamole, it’s Cinco de Mayo already! For those who don’t know, Cinco de Mayo, or the fifth of May, is a holiday that celebrates the date of the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. In short, it is a day when Mexicans celebrate their national identity with festivities and parties. Luckily for us, the rest of the world joins in too!

Although traditional Mexican fare is typically on the menu to mark this special day, Deliveroo and Scoop like to colour outside the lines. They’ve ditched the classic tacos and burritos to create something truly loco - Guacamole Gelato. That’s right, Deliveroo and Ireland’s favourite gelato parlor have partnered to make a dessert version of the iconic mexican dip.

A fiesta in your mouth, this taste sensation is made with fresh, creamy avocado. Despite being sweet, it packs a punch. This ice cream is ladened with fiery chillies, zingy limes and tangy coriander. It’s got a hint of salt but Deliveroo suggests you serve it with a side of tortilla chips too (it’s the new dunking fries in milkshake). For those looking to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with something a bit stronger, Deliveroo and Scoop have also created a second version laced with José Cuervo tequila blanco. The Avocado Margarita Gelato is sure to get the party started ¡Arriba!

The unique ice cream will be available for a limited time from Deliveroo. It is available from Wednesday, 5th May until stocks last, priced at €3.50 per scoop.
