Tuesday, 6th July, Dublin: Irish takeaway lovers are set to be divided over the launch of a limited-edition 'Chicken Chocolate Masala', as on-demand food-delivery company, Deliveroo, and Indian restaurant, Kerala Kitchen, team up to put a chocolatey twist on a classic curry in celebration of World Chocolate Day, tomorrow Wednesday, 7th July.
Curious Deliveroo customers in Dublin will be able to order the sweet and savoury creations from Kerala Kitchen restaurants in Ballsbridge and Stoneybatter.
The chefs at Kerala Kitchen have been serving authentic Indian food inspired by the light flavours of Kerala on the mean streets of Dublin since 2009. They boldly took on the challenge to create a curry like no other, and boy have they succeeded! In true Kerala Kitchen style they’ve used the best ingredients from the dreamy coastal region - think chicken marinated in creamy coconut milk, fresh curry leaves and aromatic spices. But most importantly, this curry is ladened with rich chocolatey goodness. The result is a ‘Chicken Chocolate Masala’ decadent enough to satisfy even the biggest chocoholic.
But it doesn’t stop there, Kerala Kitchen have taken it one step further by creating quite possibly the most delicious side dish of all time - Chocolate Peshwari Naan. The mavericks have added chocolate to this classic Indian leavened bread, filled with desiccated coconut and almonds. Stunning.
Lewis Cummings, founder of Kerala Kitchen said: "Our friend's at Deliveroo tasked us with creating a show stopping chocolate curry, and to our surprise, we were blown away by the results. Indian cuisine is famous for its blend of sweet and savoury flavours and the coconut and chocolate flavours in these dishes hit the nail on the head.”
Arabella Jenkins at Deliveroo said: "Food discovery, innovation and creativity has always been at the heart of what we do at Deliveroo, but 2021 is the year to take great food to the next level. We shocked Dubliners last year by creating the first chocolate sushi rolls, and this year, our partners at Kerala Kitchen have succeeded in creating the latest experimental dish that our customers didn't know they wanted. Chicken Chocolate Masala with a knock out Chocolate Peshwari Naan, what’s not to love?”
